I am looking at a used NH TC33DA that us for sale at the local Kubota dealership. Here are the specs:

2004 TC33DA 4x4 with hydrostat
440 hours
Woods 1009 FEL
72" mid mount deck
Folding ROP with "sun-shade"

They are asking $18,750, which to me, just seems to be way too high... How low do you think I could talk them down, and what is a realistic expectation as to the true value of this CUT? I took a look at it a few hours ago, and though I did not drive it, it appeared to be in OUTSTANDING condition.

About the dealership: it is less than 10 minutes from my house :) The other nice thing is that this dealership has other locations that are NH service centers. Additionally, they are also in negotiations with NH to add this location as well. So, parts and service are not going to be an issue.

Here is the link to the add: TC33DA

Thanks for the help guys!!!

I'm not a fan of the TC33DA. I had 4 of them in a fleet I managed. They were too electronically fragile in my opinion. Their operator presence interlocks and controllers seemed to cause a lot of problems for us.

Interesting. What would go wrong? Was it primarily the safety interlocks? Engine controls?

I also found a 1997 TC29 for $11.5K.

4x4 New Holland Tractor with Loader, Bush Hog, & Grading Blade

Or maybe I should look at Kubota? The dealership was also showing me a B3200 that got my attention. The big problem is 20 grand hurts. I could do it, but still...

Thanks,

I think that's way too high for a ten year old tractor with 440 hours when you could buy a brand new LS or Kioti for LESS money that would have a warranty and more capability. For example, an LS G3038H would have 31hp at the PTO versus 27, would lift two hundred more pounds on the 3pt, would lift 540lbs more on the FEL, and would weigh 300lbs more (generally a good thing). Heck, for just under $20K you could jump up to an R3039 that would be a major increase in capability. In the same ballpark as the G3038H would be a Kioti CK35....more machine than the TC, same cost, plus a warranty.

If there's a NH dealer near you, they also sell LS tractors with NH decals, so you can actually get warranty work done there so long as LS approves it. Similarly, you can get parts at any NH or Case/IH dealer (for Case it's their Farmall B series that LS makes). All of those are the same machines, with different paint/decals. The problem is that buying one from NH or Case increases the costs by thousands.

Well, holy cow... I took your advice and looked into the LS series of tractors and got a quote on an LS R3039H with a bucket and mid PTO for just shy of $20K. The LS G3038H with the same was $17.5K. Mind you, this was just an over the phone quote, so anything can happen when talking face to face. And like you said, the LS would come with a warranty, 0 hours, and more capability.

I guess I need to look into the LS series a bit more to check out the reliability reports... Any concerns in that department?

I really appreciate the advice!!!

You're more than welcome. If there's a Kioti dealer around, you may want to get a price on a CK35 for comparison's sake.

There have been very few reported problems with any of the current LS machines that I recall. I've seen a couple of people have headlight fuses blow, and a couple of leaky fuel tanks that were replaced with an improved version. You can look around in the LS sub-section, but there doesn't seem to be much to report. R,

Yep, I have been looking at the LS sub-forum and have learned a lot here on my day off. I have also been checking out the Kioti's, but they seem to be coming in at a lightly higher price point.

On a side note: I saw a post of yours over in the LS sub-forum about RCO Tractor in Texas. I gave them a call and I got quoted in @ $19.5K for an LS R3039H (with bucket). I am going to spend more time over in the LS forum and educate myself as much as I can.

Thanks again,

Steve Y.
