Kubota B3030
I'm going to try this site again. Last time I was on here looking for help with my Kubota. Made a lot of people mad when I proclaimed how big a pile of junk that thing was. Didn't get much love over there. I just got done fixing it and I sold it. Good riddance.

Anyway, I'm shopping around for a new 30-35hp tractor. Gotta be 4x4 hydro with FEL. I found a 2000 NH TC33d semi local to me. Has just shy of 1000 hours on it. Looks clean but haven't seen it in person yet. Can anyone offer me some insight on this brand and model? I'm not familiar with the NH line.It spec's out well and is just about perfect for what I'm looking for. Main use will be bush hogging commercially (maybe 200 hrs/year) and then odds and ends work like mulch, firewood, maybe a little snow, pallet forks etc. The loader is impressive compared to the B3030 I just got rid of. That thing couldn't lift a wet sock. I did some reading on the TC33 and I found a few bad reviews. 2 said their tractors broke in half up near the bellhousing. Possibly caused by a backhoe attachment? not real sure. Another one was simply a fuel cutoff solenoid, and prob solved. What's the reliability of these machines? can they hit 4-5000 hours with proper care? Any known faults or issues? Are they stoudt and durable or are they all plastic like the JD's.

My Kubota literally felt like it was going to fall apart everytime I used it. I really liked my OLD Kioti, it was small, but solid and really capable for it's size. I just looked at a Bobcat 230 the other day, which I understand to be the same machine as a Kioti CK30. I liked it overall. Had good power, nice loader, comfy to drive....That particular model was beat the crap though with only 800 hours. The more I look at the TC33d, the more I like it. I'm also considering a JD 4310 but I read lots of bad things about their fancy electrical system. The JD reminds me more of a Bentley, and the NH reminds me more of a real tractor. Granted, I want something nicer than an old farmall (however awesome those are), but I still want a "tractor" that can handle some real work and a little punishment (but not abuse, I'm nice to my machines)

What say you guys on the TC33d? Good, bad, ugly, pros/cons? I'm planning to look at one this weekend and possibly buy it. He wants 12,700 for it including tax. Again, it's a 2000 year, 1000 hours with FEL R4 tires about 60% tread. It's hydro, not supersteer.

PS: is there a rear remote kit available for these? If so, how much $ and are they worth it? I don't have a specific use for one, but if I add a rear blower, I'd like it to have a remote for the chute direction.

I've got TC29D which is the exact same tractor except it is only 29HP.
Mine is a hydro and has a FEL and a backhoe, it is a great machine, well made and very reliable.
The backhoe uses the tractor's hydraulics so there is a remote in the back but I don't know how much it would cost to Install because it was already there when I bought the machine.

I don't have any experience with that particular model tractor, but I don't see how it makes much sense when there are more capable alternatives that you can buy new for only a bit more.

A brand new LS G3033 goes for $15K give or take....33hp/26hp at the PTO, weighs 2,600lbs (TC is 2,300-2,600), can lift 1,800lbs on the 3pt, and has an FEL that will lift 1,600lbs to max height. In short, it's similar in size, and power, but has a better loader, a 5yr warranty AND it isn't 13 years old, with 1,000 hours on it.

My dealer has a gear model listed for $15,750, but negotiates a little bit...could probably get an HST version for around this price. They do offer 0% financing, but it might change the price somewhat (not sure).

I have a 2003 TC25D that I bought one year ago with just over 600 hours. It does what I need it to do. It seems to have plenty of power for me, as I always lose traction before I lose power, and I have rear wheel weights and decent R4 tires. One caution is that parts can get expensive and a little hard to find. For instance, the plastic tool box on mine is broken. Partspring wants about $50 and they've been out of stock for over a year. More significantly, although they have a factory rear remote kit (you can add two) each valve and associated plumbing is about $1000! I think that the company that made New Holland tractors under license in the early 2000's had their deal terminated, but kept the right to sell parts, so they're not real motivated to keep supply up and prices down. Overall, I am very happy with my tractor.

One other caution: this is the only tractor I've ever owned, so I don't have much perspective.

Good luck!

I have a '99 tc33d. I have never had a moment's trouble with it. 1300 hours and it still acts like it's brand new. The 914 belly mower works ok, but it is hard on belts. I use it mostly for spraying and cutting grass, but it pulls my 6 foot land plane without difficulty through rocky driveways and parking lots. I have several tractors and this is my favorite. The HST tranny is a real workhorse. No problems here.

I have a 2001 TC29D with Super Steer. I have about 1000 hours on it. I have been rough on her but she just keeps going. Other than maintenance I have only replaced the the oil sender and the fuel filter bowl as the valve on it was bad. I also have some issues with mold in my fuel tank that I am working on. My fault on that area as I never filled my tank completely full over the years. I would run it almost empty the just filled up with a 5 gallon tank.

I had a TC33DA with loader and a Befco 5 foot finish mower. I used it a few years and sold it when I moved down here. It was a good machine while I had it. The tractors of that era were made by Shibaura. I didn't have any remotes on mine but they were available for that model. Mine had SuperSteer also. I cant remember how many hours I had on it, but it was just a few hundred, I think maybe 800 or so. I used it mostly for mowing 7 acres, every 2 weeks or so, and sometimes every week. I sold it to an individual, and I think later he said that he had to repair the tilt mechanism in the tilting steering column. It was a very comfortable and convenient tractor to operator and with the SuperSteer it would turn on a dime. New Holland Boomers are now made by LS, and I would look and compare a new LS before I laid down any cash.

The 2000 vintage TC33Ds had no sub-frame on the loader and I'm not sure about the backhoe. The 7308 loader has been replaced with the 14LA on later models. The 14LA/15LA are much stronger. The 15LA is for SuperSteer tractors only. Anyhow, my recommendation would be to look one size larger to the TC35D so you get a tractor with a sub-frame and stronger loader and hydraulics. The TC35D will have a better HST transmission and much higher hydraulic flow. It's sub-frame makes the loader very strong and a secure running gear with no chance of breakage. For commercial use, I'd sure recommend the step up to the TC35D. This is the older New Holland models prior to 2008 that were built on the Shibaura based tractors and a long history with New Holland. The TC33D will probably be fine, but the TC35D of the same vintage would be stronger and about the same price range on the used market.
