Used the machine this morning with the sickle mower. Parked it for a couple hours and went back to start it. Nothing. The lights on the dashboard light up, the head lights work and so does the flashers and directionals. The starter does not click or anything. I hear a click come from the right side by the relays (the 1 x1 gray things that plug in.) I swithched them around but nothing. I checked power to the starter, got it. power to the ignition switch, got it. What can it be??? Also checked #2 fuse, ok. Last problem I had was the glow plug not coming on and I had to replace that relay and it works now. Thanking you for any help in advance. You guys are the best.

When you turn the key do you get power to the S terminal of the solenoid? That's where the small purple or blue wire that attaches to the starter solenoid.

My guess will be the wires under left side fender that go to safety switches on mid, rear ptos etc. check for a wire that has been disconnected.

I would also check the seat safety/shutoff switch as well. Good Luck- Jay

SteveinMD, I did check the solenoid at the point where the red wire with the rubber cap makes contact. I will look for the blue or purple wire and check it. Thanks.

dqdave1, I will also check for the wires that go to PTO's. Thanks

jbrumberg, the seat safety switch is OK. thanks

anything else I can do or look for. I need my machine running.

Thanks, gil

Did you turn off the PTO when you parked it?

Gentlemen, after several hours of checking wires, connections and other things you mentioned, I went back to the fuse panel. I did check fuse #2, in the beginning, being the fuse for the alternator and it was fine. so I checked all of the fuses and much to my surprise I found a bad fuse, the one for safety switch for the seat, I replaced it and the machine started, boy do I feel like a fool. Thanks for all your help. All I can say is when checking fuses, check ALL of them.

There is nothing "foolish" about your thread/posts. I would venture to say that most if not all of the TBN membership has done something "foolish" during our ongoing "learning curves". Jay :D

The starting circuit on these things is poorly designed. I have a diagram for a good fix if you want it. It involves adding a relay to split the original starting circuit into two circuit. Let me know if you want the diagram.

I'm not surprised that you checked fuse #2 since so much has been written about fuse #2 on the TC35/40/45 tractors. It's just that on your tractor, that's not the same numbered fuse. Glad you found the problem.
