I have a 2005 TC33D NH FEL, R-4 tires, Supersteer, with a Woods box blade and Woods cutter. The tractor has about 120 hours on it. We sold our farm a few years ago and don't anticipate buying one for another 5-10 years.

The tractor isn't costing me anything, but it isn't doing anything for me either. It gets used a little at my in-laws property (but they have a larger MF tractor) and for the rare landscape job at my house in town.

Should I sell it? If so, what's a fair price? I'm just north of New Orleans if that matters.

What are your 5 or 10 year plans for what you have now? No need to mowor anything?

If you have no need for the tractor, you could sell it, and rent when the occasional need arises. 5-10 years is a long time to hold on to it if you do not use it. But, if it is paid for...

I would be very inclined to keeping it. The replacement cost in 5 years will be high, and quite possibly for a lesser machine. You should run it when you can, and keep it in a shed. Great tractor, and you already have the implements that fit. Good luck with your decision. If you do decide to sell, the classified ads here I think are free to members of TBN.

I would hang onto it. If your luck is anything like mine as soon as you get rid of it you will need a tractor all the time. Just run it once in a while to keep seals and such from drying out and have fun!

I'd keep it. mainain it and keep it under a cover.. even one of those 100$ tarp canopies... start it every few months.. move it around.. change the oil every couple years.. etc. when you do need the tractor in 5-10ys it will be right there and cheap...

I would get rid of it/sell it now. Why should you take a chance on something happening to a tractor you don't need? If you liquidate that asset, you can buy into a mutual fund based on energy or pharmaceuticals and make enough money that will grow at a fast rate. If you are ultra-conservative, buy a money market account. You'll not have to worry about theft, keeping fluids changed, fires, or somebody using and wrecking your tractor. Keep your life simple and let your money work for you. When the auto makers were in trouble and their stocks took a dive, I looked at Ford and its not taking public funds in a bailout as strength. I bought Ford stock for under $3 per share and today it is worth $12.97 a share. Just imagine what some wise investing can do with the money you'll get for that tractor.

Good food for thought....a known valved asset now, verse a possible brighter future earning senario.

"a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" :D

p.s. I'd be happy to storage the machine for you and exersie it regularly. hehehe

If you were sure 5 years there was use for TC33 I say keep..you have home work already done, but if doubt setting in sell, for it maybe more of hassle than what its worth..peace of mine..go w/your gut feeling.

The big question is what is it worth ? What amount do you have invested ? If you have to drop the price drastically to sell it... maybe storing it may be the plan. If you can get 90% of your money back then sell. You must have a sufficent storage area to keep it in... ie no tarps, outside storage that your not paying rent on. There will always be good used equipment to buy. Technology changes fast and who knows whats on the horizon. I would be tempted to sell for the best possible appraised price.
