well is there any tc33d owners that have the problem where grass wraps around the drive shaft? The front u-joint seems to be covered by a boot that holds grease and the back one sits dry as a bone and exposed. i have no idea why they designed it like that. maybe mine is missing something but i have to make a plate to cover that u-joint because it catches grass big time. Why didnt they put a boot on it and have grease in it?

Roto:

It sounds like you are missing the rear driveline guard u-joint boot which is weird if you already have the front boot. Could you send a picture? Jay

i will try to get a picture of this. Here is the NH schematic and it only shows one boot on the front and none over the rear. Do you have something on your tc29?

Seems like there should be a shroud covering the rear connection??

well here is a picture and this is what it looked like since new and there are 4 threaded holes there but not sure what they are for and i would love other tc33d owners to look under there tractors to see if it looks the same or should there be a shroud? I can make a simple flat steel cover with 4 holes but would order the correct piece if there suppose to be one. please look!

I just went out and checked mine. Mine has Super Steer so it may be a little different than yours if you don't have it. Attached to those 4 holes I have about a 1" piece of metal that has a bar attached in the center that goes up and attaches just belowand behind the front axle. Again, this appears to be becase of the supersteer so yours probably don't have this. I have never had grass catch on mine and I drive through some pretty tall grass often.

must be somebody out there with a tc33d non supersteer to look underneath.

Looks just like the TC30 transmission case, 4 empty holes that could be used to attach a cover plate.
A friend of mine got vines wrapped around the driveshaft and ripped the whole thing out. His tractor was new and he was able to get the dealer to fix it under warranty. He fabricated a cover out of 3/16" steel and it works very well.

There's no boot.

Perhaps someone with a MMM can confirm...Does part of the mounting gear for the MMM attach to these 4 holes? I only had a MMM on my TC25D for 1 season then sold it. Can't recall if it did.

the 4 holes may just be for the supersteer like pkzochow said earlier. i made a steel square plate out of 1/8' and have 4 holes drilled and will try to cover it to protect it. poor design with no protection. not even greasable and mine is sloppy already. I ordered new.
