TC33 starting problems

I have a 2006 NH TC33 and I'm having problems getting it started. First when I would turn the key over all the gauges come up like they should and after the glow plug light goes out I turn the key to start it I here a click and all gauges go to zero. if you turn the key back to off position and try it again nothing happens. So i took the positive cable off and put it back on, turn the key gauges come up and turn the key to start same thing happens. After a while of messing with that the tractor finally started. Problem #2 after using the tractor for a couple of hours i shut it off for about an hour and went back to try and start it now it cranks over but won't start. I have already put a new fuel filter on it and bled the lines like it said and there was fuel additive mixed in the fuel to prevent gelling. Any suggestions if the problems are related? Thanks in advance for your input.

Problem #1 sounds like an intermittent bad connection, somewhere. It's probably causing issue #2.

Start by pulling off both battery cables, make sure the connections are clean, do the same thing where the cables go to the starter and to the chassis.

Have you owned this tractor for awhile or is it new to you? Problem 1 is either a bad connection (pos, neg battery cables or pos to starter,or neg to block) or possibly a weak battery. You don't say what you finally did to get her started, that would help us. How cold is it where you are and did you notice ice or water in the fuel filter or bowl when you changed the filter? If the tractor sat for awhile running it may have warmed it sufficiently to release more moisture from the fuel tank and lines. Check the fuel filter again for water. Were you seated in the seat when problem 2 happened? Is the battery spinning the engine fast enough to ignite the fuel? Lots of possibilities, we need more input.

It has been pretty cold here in Ky when i took fuel filter off there didn't appear to be in any water in it but filter was dirty. I have had this tractor for 2 years now and have never had any problems. As far as the battery it is new the cable connection are clean so i'm not sure what fixed that problem, i have been reading some other post sounds like alot of people are having battery cable issues so i am going to replace them next week. Tractor turns over fine just won't start like it's not getting any fuel. Thanks for all the info

Your initial problem appears to be electrical but you now have a new issue because you opened up the filter.

You'd be wise to change the filter if it appears dirty. In fact you should change the filter every year before winter. A clean filter is less likely to clog with water contaminated fuel than a dirty one.

The fact that you opened up the filter means you'll need to prime the fuel system. If you didn't do that, it explains why you can crank the engine and it won't start. Read the instructions for doing this in your owners manual. If you don't have one, get back to the forum and someone will walk you through that.
