My TC33 the last couple times I have used it has run like a champ until it gets hot, then you can hear that it is subtly running rougher than it should be. Eventually you will notice that when you push down on the foot feed that it will bog down/run rougher and even want to stall a bit. It cools off and the symptoms resolve . . . until it heats up again.

Things I am going to check:

Fuel system starting with cap to see if vent system is plugged and thus starving it of fuel.
Then fuel (replace, though it has been through two refills of what should be good quality diesel).
Fuel filter (but why would temp affect it.
Injector lines.

Time for hydro filter replacements anyway. Noticed that the hydro tank is over full. Significantly. Not sure how that happened . . . if they hydro system heated up and was over full could that be the issue?

How about a coil problem somewhere. When I think of problems that get worse with operating temp and get better when cool I think of ignition coils or fuel shut off coils that are getting old. Anybody like that idea?

Any thoughts you InnerWeb Wonders? You have already made by previous repairs of this critter so much more satisfying, I came here right away!

Thanks,

Chris

Fluid is coming from somewhere. Did you check engine oil?

dirt in the tank (plugging the hole after running for a while), fuel filter plugged, vent in the filler cap plugged, gas mixed into the diesel.

Thanks for the reply DieselMonk . . . must be a combination of problems. Fuel system flush improved symptoms, but didn't resolve it fully. Will update if I find a specific problem/fix

There are specs on the travel of the fuel shut off solenoid too. If it is not moving the correct distance, it would restrict fuel.

I went through this situation with my previous tractor. Replaced everything, filters, fuel pump, lines and found the problem to be gasoline in the diesel. That particular tank of fuel was purchased at a large truck stop and this was the main reason I thought the fuel was of high quality. Actually, I think that is probably the worst place to buy diesel. With the price of gas declining and diesel remaining high, why not throw a little gas in the tank and sell it for the price of diesel. I am seeing more and more posts with the issue of my (poster's) tractor running until it warms up, exactlty what my Case IH did.

Anyway, run some of the fuel into a shallow pan and you should be able to smell the gas odor evaporating out. I drained my system and refilled with a different supplier and problem solved.

If a member is aware of an easy test to determine gasoline contamination in diesel fuel, throw it out here and maybe we can solve this problem sooner.

Swap the fuel out.....it sure is worth a try.
