being a rookie in the tractor world, I am having a problem with my 3 point arms hitting the inside of my back tires when I have implements hooked up. I have a cat 1 hay roll spike from tsc and I can't seem to keep it from hitting. Do I have a cat 0 or cat 1 system? I just got a box blade that tsc said was cat 0 and it fits great. my mowing deck is a hause 5' cat 1 and as long as I tighten the chains up it works ok. I just cant tighten the chains enough to clear the wheel using the hay spike! please help!

Your TC 30 is cat 1. If you had a cat 0 box blade.. then the pins in the lift arm sockets should be sloppy.. if they are not.. it is a cat0 spacing/ cat1 pinned unit.
You will need to get the check chains tight on each side to keep the implement out og your tire. If there is not sufficient adjustment in your chains.. i suggest you get some small turnbuckles with chain locking ends, and go about it that way. Be sure to check for lift clearance, and tire clearance .. etc.

The width between the pins on the implement for cat. 1 should be 26.5" or real close to that. There are some manufactures that don't build them very close.

If your bale spear has wide pins, you may be able to reverse one or both (turn them inwards instead of outwards) to achieve a satisfactory fit. Instead of "thumbs out" just make them "thumbs in."

If he has the same KK yellow bale spear i have, it is more or less a 'cat 2' device that has cat 1 pins. though.. the toplink hole is still cat 2.. go figure.
I bought one when i had my NH 1920. The 1920 could physically lift the bale weight.. but it was a 'clam bake' as the lift linkages on the 30hp scut tractors are so close in at the rear wheels. With the bale up, I had hay setting on rear fenders, and tires chewing at the edge of the bale.. I imagine the tc-30.. a smaller tractor will amplify this.. still... I hope it works good for him. Perhaps KK changed the design in the last few years so it isn't so stubby. and close in. After a mere 1 days use, I abandoned using my 1920 to move hay... however.. now that I have a ford 5000 and nh 7610s.. I feel the hay bale spear may get some use again. I had all but forgoton about it tucked way back in the barn by some spare ford rims..e tc..
