I am interested in purchasing a compact tractor and I like the tc30 as well as a few others. I like the tc30 best so far, but I am concerned about breaking it in half. It seems as though several operators have broken their machines in half, some have done it several times. All were using a hoe except one, was moving snow in a loader. My needs for this will be using a loader and rear impliments, and pulling trailers with wood. Looking @ the lift specs, I have seen the newholland specs @ 800 lbs, and the rino, and bushhog and the koyker all Much higher, almost double the newholland specs.in some cases. I also see posts about different mounts for these loaders. I guess the distribute the stress differently, depending upon their mount. Can someone shed some light on this for me. Thnks

Mike, and others. I am by no means beeting down ths model. I really like the looks of it and want to purchase one but after reading this post, I do not know what to think? The info I got, I got on this page. Please review it and let me know what you think??? New Holland TC30 Review, Price, Information
As for the loaders I talked to newholland and their stats show 875 lbs on their recomended loader and just an example would be the koyker model 155 loader. It is rated for almost double this and I am just wondering if the aftermarket loaders are too big for this machine. Thanks,

You could scroll down several threads to the one titled TC30 Owners. Old but with recent comments. I don't think this forum has seen the problems experienced by your other forum.

The loader is weak, probably a marketing decision to move you to a boomer. Lots of other loaders to pick from.

No one should ever install a 3ph backhoe, regardless of brand. Even backhoes with a subframe can cause problems. There's a thread in the Kioti forum about this.

The issue with getting a loader with more capacity is it could cause the exact problem you are worrying about. No matter how a loader is designed, it has to attach to the engine/tranny somewhere. The mfgr designs the tractor and loader as a package, i.e., it doesn't make sense to design a loader the tractor can not support, either physically or the hydraulic system. There have been people who bought an aftermarket loader and have regretted it.

The 7308 was used on NH tractors before the Boomer line came out and was used for a few years after that, until NH designed the 12LA and 14LA loaders. It wasn't weak because of a marketing decision. The TC30 was/is sold as a plain, basic tractor, that took the older style loader. It works for some, but not others.

People have to take the time to evaluate both what they're going to be using a CUT for and how much of each task. There are people who primarily use their CUT as a large lawn mower and the FEL as a wheelbarrow. While others try and use them like a TLB and try and to do things the CUT was not designed to do like digging with the FEL.

People at the TLB end of the scale really need to evaluate whether a CUT is what they need or whether a real TLB is more appropriate.

So I guess there does not seem to be an issue with this model if it is used was it is intended by the manufacture. 3PT hoes seem to cause issues and I never intend on installing one, but I guess the question I have now is this. If I buy a tractor used, and install a rino or bushhog brand loader, even though a nearby newholland dealer sells these brands, will I have issues with overloading the tractor, being that these loaders are rated for more. I have never looked at he mounts for these brands and I know it would make a difference on how they bolt up, as to how the stress is transfered throughout the machine.

I agree with mike.. 3pt hoes put lots of sterss onthe frame ( tranny/engine bolt up! ).

If i ever used a 3pt hoe.. it would have to be super light duty...

You have a very legitimate concern here. Aftermarket loader manufacturers look at how the loader matches the tractor. In our case, it is the MOST important criteria we use when recommending a loader.

One reason the NH loader only lifts 875 could simply be a case of "falling in the middle". NH may not have the "exact" sized loader to match the tractor, in lieu of overpowering the front axle with a larger loader model, the available loader may have had to be a smaller unit. Aftermarket companies typically offer more sizes. By no means would I make the blanket statement or be afraid that using an aftermarket loader would overload the tractor. I also won't say that it doesn't happen.

There are a few steps to take to ensure this won't happen to you.
1) First, make sure you use the recommended mounting or bracket kit to install the loader. If it recommends a rear axle kit, get it! Don't just take a set of brackets from an old JD and cut them up and weld them together to fit a IH tractor.
2) Make sure you know what the front axle load rating of your tractor is.
3) Ask to see a photo of the loader mounted on your specific tractor make and model. If it "looks" too big, it "is" too big.

Our recommeneded loader for the TC30 has a full working lift capacity of 1400#. I am going with the theory that this specific NH tractor has "middle child syndrom".

Wow, that's pretty scary stuff seeing those units failing so quickly. Also, the cost to repair it isn't too far from the cost of a whole new tractor. I believe having this knowledge before buying one of them is a big plus. I would be hard pressed to jump into one of these with all the other choices available. Heck, get a FarmTrac and at least you won't have to worry about the warranty.:(

I personally don't want to use a loader unless it is sub frame mounted. I'd like to tie engine, bell housing and rear axle in some stout frame same as TLBs. does anyone know if that option is available to NH if your tractor is not a TLB type.
I guess I like a TLB minus the B.:D
