TC29d
I have a TC29d. Only 400 hrs. I was clearing an area of falledn trees & greenbier when the tractor luged down and died. It would not start. In the past when clearing brush a wire on driver's lft side in front of axle had pulled loose at the connector. Sure enough only bothe of the wires had pulled loose at the connector. I put them back together. Nothing. turning the key on the gauges work the "pto indicator light" comes on and the "rear/mid pto speed" light comes on. Normal when turning on the key. The left side idiot lights so not come on. Battery is new and good. All lights work. Could ther be another wire i drug loose but don't see. All fuses are good.

First check your fuses. If fuses are good,go back to connectors that were loose. Make sure the wires are not crossed. The neutral safety switch and rear PTO harness connectoes are very similar and if one of each were disconnected and reconnected wrong this could cause the PTO light to activate.

More info......the PTO harness should have a yellow zip tie or yellow tape wrapping. I forget which switch is which but the longer of the 2 harnesses goes to the bottom switch.

All fuses were good reconnceter the Mid-PTO wires. (Theses wer the only ones loose) Still nothing. Jumped across the solenoid. Engine turned over but would not start. Yes ther key was in the on position. Any other ideas b4 I have the dealer mechanic come out?

The wires that pulled loose may also be broken. The engine not turning over is caused by the PTO or neutral sensing safety circuit. If you jumped the starter and it didn't start, that's because the fuel cutoff solenoid is de-energized. That happens because of the PTO/Neutral sensing being open or the seat switch being faulty. I'd bet that your wires got jerked so hard that one of them might be broken internally.

Ok, so after I check out the wires, how do you "re-energize" the fuel cutoff solenoid.

Ok, so after I check out the wires, how do you "re-energize" the fuel cutoff solenoid.

Do you mean directly or the normal way? You have a safety module that gets input from all the operator safety circuits and it supplies 12vdc to the solenoid when all safety circuits are closed. You told us you had checked all fuses, but I'd check them all with a ohmeter to make sure they are good, especially fuse 2. If you cannot get power to the fuel cutoff solenoid, you can run a jumper to it with 12 vdc. It has a spade connector on the back that gets 12 vdc. Just put that jumper on before hot wiring your starter. Also, you'll have to remove the wire to kill the engine once it is running.
