All - I've been reading through more and more posts, and continue seeing options that I was not made aware of by any of the dealers I've talked to. However, I've been reading about tractors bigger than the 24. Are options like rear working lights, armrests, etc, etc, available on the TC24DA, or only on the bigger tractors?
Thanks.

Also, curious about the 54" bucket...am I better off making sure I get some teeth on that bucket or is the straight cutting edge good enough for most light duty applications?
Thanks.

That straight cutting edge will NEVER be good enough, get the toothbar too. You'll never regret it. Sorry I did not mention it before.

I've got a 2003 TC24D and didn't know about options either until after I got my tractor. The rear work light is available, it took me about 5 minutes to install using the factory bracket. I don't know about armrests, but I can't imagine the would not be available to add on. The TC24DA fixes some minor inconveniences found on the TC24D (lights and throttle positions). Otherwise it is an great tractor. Lots of power for in a small size.

I have a 54" bucket and do not have a toothbar on it, but I don't dig into dirt with that tractor. For scooping mulch, picking up dirt that is piled in the driveway, etc, there is no real need for a toothbar. But if you want to dig down into dirt, then you would be much better off with a toothbar. The other tractor I use has a toothbar so I didn't add one to the TC24. If you plan on doing a lot of digging, then you might be better off with the 48" bucket instead of the 54".

Thanks fellas. I'm not planning on doing much digging, just thought I'd ask, I guess I'd rather have the toothbar when I need it though /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As a tall guy, I'll be reaching out for the loader control and just thought that maybe armrests would make jobs a little more relaxing?!!

Bob - for future reference, the armrests are available. They are $85 installed, which seems kinda pricey, but since I'm buying them with the tractor, I thought what the heck!

As you said, the rear working light is available, I was told it would run about $70 total ($50 for the light, $20 for the bracket). Not going for it at this point in time.

Rear 3pt ballast box (100 lb box) is $160. Will hold another 400 lb (for a total ballast of 500 lb), just in case you are ever in need of one! I think I'm going to try some light FEL work before investing, even though I think I will have to have it at some point. Hope this thread helps someone in the future, curious about options. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Order a WR Long toothbar from Carver, a sponsoring dealer on here. Probably $200 or so shipped to your door. Installs in 30 mins or so.

I have the ballast box. Just in case you also add Pat's Easy Change or some other quick hitch, you have to remove the lower link pins from the ballast box and re-drill new holes for them a little bit lower so the hooks from a quick hitch will fit. Then you run into the problem that the pins are so low that the q.h. hooks won't slide under the pins when you back the tractor up! I solved the problem with mine by welding a set of casters to the bottom rails of the weight box. It raises the box enough to use the quick hitch and it lets you move the weight box around the inside of the garage without too much grief.

By the way, I think I paid $35 for my rear work light & bracket, I have the OEM version from NH.
