tc 45d fuel tank leak

I found a feul tank leak behind the seat where two bolts are placed into the side of the fuel tank. the leaking bolt is apparently stripped and cannot be removed. The pictures tell the story. Do I need a new tank or can this be repaired?

Welcome!

There seem to be some products out there that will repair plastic diesel fuel tanks. Maybe you could apply those sealers over and around the molded-in nut after removing the bolt? The stripped bolt may back out if you can pull on it and turn at the same time.

I would leave the hold down strap off and replace it with duct tape.

"it can probably be repaired with a fuel resistant epoxy or jb weld by roughening the area around where its leaking with some sand paper and cleaning the area and appling the epoxy if you can acces it it may be able to be done on the tractor once you drain most of the fuel if you cant get access you may have to remove the tank."

Well, it wasn't much help. I wish I could say I had a leak and this is what fixed it, but I'm glad I can't on the other hand. :laughing:

Your post may me wonder what I would do if I did have a leak.
