I purchased a TC40DA last spring with R4 tires. I used it to plow with a 2-14 in heavy clay this fall. It worked great. I suspect you will be happy with either tractor.

About $4000 U.S. if the tractor is "loader ready." If the tractor is not sold "loader ready" then the loader will probably be closer to $4700 because the joystick and plumbing have to be added.

If you want to pull the largest mower, then the extra PTP HP of the TC45DA might come in handy. Personally, I would not pull a rotary cutter over 6 ft, but with either tractor you could go to 7 ft without much difficulty. For an 8 ft cutter, I'd stick with the TC45DA because of it's additional PTO HP and engine torque. For finish mowing, someone else may be able to tell you more info, but I'm just not that familiar with how much power finish mowers take.

The TC40DA and TC45DA are identical in every other way but PTO HP, so if you don't think that it's worth the extra money for the TC45DA, I'd have to agree with you.

Seems I almost always agree with the wisdom of our great NH Boomer guru, Jim, and this is just one more instant. I have a 40D and it has all the power I ever needed. As he says, unless you need more PTO power, I think the 45 would probably be unneeded. The transmissions, being identical, are such that you will never be able to put the extra 5 hp to the ground.
