TBN has been a great online meeting place over many years now. Thanks for this must go to the team here for this. Unfortunately many members no longer post here anymore so I was wondering if it would be possible to have an online reunion day or week. It would be great to say G’day to all the oldies and hear what they are up to. I think it could be done by Sending PM’s and invite say members that joined prior to 03 or had at least 500 posts.

Not sure about the logistics of doing this but I am sure it could be worked out. Any thoughts?

Vin, I think you have a great idea in theory, but if someone doesn't have email notification of PMs selected, then I doubt the PM method would work. As much as I'd love to hear updates from old members like John Miller III, Thomas, and others, it's really up to them to check in from time to time. I know that they know how much we like to hear from them because a simple login and post brings hundreds of return posts from all thier friends here. It's almost as if their popularity is thier "problem." Like you, I always enjoy an update though.

So, I think you have a great idea, but I also think Muhammad has gone out of his way to make the Family and Friends section and this meetings section. The medium is already there for some of our old friends to check in if they make the choice to do it. Who knows, they might be lurking anyhow and just not posting. If so, they already know how much we miss them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You could always try something like this:

Try and get a hold of everyone you would like to hear from and have them get AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or some other chatting software -- and setup some online chat room during specified days/hours. It doesn't have to be done through TBN.

Ha! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif That would not take long to run my TC45 out of fuel. I bought 20 gallons last weekend and I've used every drop working in my dry pond. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I don't think I've ever spent so much time and money on a dry hole. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif One of these days we'll get some rain, and that hole will fill up, but now it just sucks all the liquid out of my fuel tank. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Hey, maybe for Valentine's Day my wife will get me some diesel fuel. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Nah... Probably not.

Good to hear from you, Thomas. Remember, you don't have to be old to be an old member. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
