Does anyone out there have any experience with these? I am looking at several different HD RC's, but have not been able to locate any posts on these yet.

I am also looking at the Woods 720 and Bush Hog 306 cutters.

Would appreciate any and all advice.

Thanks in advance.

BTW - I will be using the RC behind a NH TN75. Also would appreciate thoughts on a 7 vs 6 ft cutter. Some have suggested going with the 7 footer to cover tractor tracks, however, I was leaning more towards the 6 ft model due to part time use in woods too. Primary use will be in reclaiming pastures (25-30acres) and cleaning out old trails and woods(30acre).

Taylor Pittsburg (Taylor-way) has OEM'd Massey Ferguson & AGCO implements for a number of years. They recently beefed up their rotary cutter design.

KingKutter Corp. now owns Taylor Pittsburg... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I really like the Woods new rotary cutters, however the Bush Hog 30x series is in a class by itself. This Bush Hog unit is proven and time tested to LAST! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

With your available PTO hp, I would certainly go with a 7' rotary cutter, however this Bush Hog is one of the heaviest ~ 1700 lbs. of steel hanging off the back...

(the 306 is ~ 1100 lbs.)

I have a 6' foot Taylor Way RC that I use with my TN55. The only time that the tractor tried to bog down was in some really heavy fescue. The 6' RC covers the TN55 and would cover the tracks of your TN75, but I think you have more than enough HP to handle a 7' RC.

The Taylor Way seems to be well built, and I have had no problems in 100 hours or so of use.

My only complaint is that it is a pain to access the universal joint on the gear-box side of the PTO shaft.

A real plethoria of info!

Thanks for the pics and input. I feel like I have the HP to handle the 307, but your ref to the weight got me to thinking about whether or not I would be able to lift the unit without too much strain, since I was considering purchasing the lift style instead of a pull behind.

I mainly want the lift style for when I have to back into the heavy stuff, and for transporting thru woods.

What are your thoughts on lift type vs pull behind?

Steve,

Thanks for the input. I notice you live in SC w/farm in NC. I live in GA but just purchased property in Hendersonville. What dealer did you buy your TW thru, if you don't mind me asking.

Have you run the TW thru any brush or saplings?

Also, do you have any specs you could port on this unit?

FYI - I am dealing with Carland in Hville

My farm is near Statesville (north of Charlotte) and I bought my Taylor Way from a dealer in Harmony (near Statesville).

I haven't tackled anything really heavy in the way of brush -- the largest has been 2 inches or less. My unit has a slip clutch. I'm not sure whether it is standard on the 6' model, but I suspect it is.

I am sorry, I don't have any technical info on Taylor Way.

Hendersonville is a beautiful area. I especially like the area around the NC State Experiment Station.

John,

Thanks again for the input.

FYI - Pulled the trigger today on the Brown 484 w/ft chains. This unit came out to be less $$ than the BH307Woods, 8400, and the Rhino CY84. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The only diff I can see besides the cost savings is the paint quality on the Brown is not too good, which really will not be an issue after several uses anyway. Hopefully I won't have any other surprises when I start using /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
