Tarrup 225 Disc Mower

I have a Hesston disc mower and have the chance to buy a used Taarup 225 Disc mower...Not as an upgrade, but as a spare. The issues are (1) I know practically nothing about the brand and mower, and (2) I have no idea what a fair price on the mower would be. The mower is very used and I plan to hook it up and try it out before getting too serious about it...But, is the brand a good one, is the mower a decent older mower, etc.? And finally, is there a way to know the year of manufacture? The serial # ends in 95. Does that mean it is a 1995 model? Any and all help will be appreciated. Tks!

I wouldn't buy a Taarup mower, not much parts support for those anymore if you break it.

If it is tight in the drivetrain, not broke up, has no old weld repairs and the tarp is good, worth maybe 2K. Ken Sweet

Taarup was associated with Kverneland...which in turn is now part of Kubota.

Generally solid stuff....European import and parts would likely have to be sourced there if needed. If you knew a dealer that sold them back when new you might have some local input on it.

Kubota sell disc mowers....but are Vicon based.
