I was wondering if there was a way to tap off the loader block with long hoses
to run a 3 pt. log splitter? And if there was, what two colors to use. The hoses
and connectors would be cheaper than a rear remote kit.

I think that if I were running a 3pt splitter I would run a two stage pump off of the pto. In my case though it wouldn't make sense to run a 40hp tractor when a 6hp B&S does a super job...Mike.

Rear remote for a CK30 is about $300 installed. I think you're close on the lines and connectors ($150). Remotes are handy for other things as well. Snowblower chute, woodsplitter, backhoe, top link, etc. One time pain, for long time gain. Maybe you could make a deal with your dealer, say $250 installed.

A few years ago I used the backhoe hydraulic's to run my log splitter. It worked fine but realized there was no upside to running the tractor just to operate the splitter .Also when I wanted to take my splitter home the tractor is 50 miles from my home I had no way of using the splitter,For my money you can buy a 6hp gas engine for less that one hundred dollars at Harbor freight. You can get a 11 gpm pump and bracket at Northern tool for around 150.00.A few hoses that you need anyway and a oil tank at Northern for around 50.00 and your set. It is not that hard and long term it is the way to go.There will be some folks that will argue the point but for my money that is what I would do.

Depends on how much wood you split, for a home owner like me who splits only a cord or two a year, the care and feeding of another gas engine is a pita. So I gave away my gas splitter and use a 3pt splitter. When the back hoe is on, I just unplug the hydraulics from the BH and plug them into the the 3 pt splitter, which sits on saw horses. By fall I usually have the BH off and the splitter on the tractor. With the splitter on the tractor I find it very convenient since you can raise it up to a comfortable height for small rounds and put it on the ground to break down heavy stuff to a manageable size. Another eight or ten hours of tractor run time is a non issue for me.
The 3 pt splitters are slow, no doubt about that, but my days of splitting fast and furious are long gone. Me and the splitter are going about the same speed these days.

We all have our needs I guess, for me the PITA would be tying my tractor up with a splitter when I need the FEL to pitch the split wood in to.And I would rather feed my B&S 6hp than my 40hp tractor. The downside to a dedicated splitter is that everyone knows that you have it and it's on wheels:)..Mike.

The simple answer is yes.

If your FEL has a PB port, just run a hose from the FEL PB port to the back with a male QD on the end.

The FEL PB hose will go to the log splitter IN port, and the log splitter OUT port will go to a return hose or directly to tank via the fill cap.

When you are not using the log splitter, just plug the PB hose into the female QD 3pt circuit.
