Tall grass "Killer" for seals on F models and others

I had a F3080 and sold it last year. As I was preparing to load it I saw Hyd fluid coming from inside of one of the drive wheels. Had Barlows repair it. Was a 95 cent seal which cost me $200 installed. New owner used for a couple of weeks mowing high grass and hyd fluid started leaking around drive wheel. He took it to a NC Kubota dealer who said grass wrapped around wheel and ruined seal.

My old F3680 has almost 1000 hours on it without that problem, did have the hose let go that raises the deck. You definitely will notice that trail. Will check both units to be sure.

Never had that problem but I never use mine in tall, tough grass but I'll keep an eye open. Thanks.
