My brother and I are about to sign on the dotted line tomorrow for our first "real" tractor plus a few extras.

TC40DA, 16LA w/ a bolt on cutting edge, BH-90X w/ hyd thumb, one rear remote w/ a 3rd function kit for the FEL's "Bull" grappler, a grill guard and a fiberglass canopy. Oh yeah, I think we get a couple of new hats to boot. :D

I've been lurking for awhile and just registered as one of your newest of the newest newbies. I have really enjoyed the wide variety of discussions and the quality of them too. I'm not sure how I'd ever get anything done between reading all these threads and playing with our new toy. (Hopefully we'll see it this weekend).

The dealer says it's new, but I'm not sure how many hours it really has on it since the instrument cluster was recently replaced. ??? It looks pretty good, but has obviously been demoed multiple times (including at my place). It took less than 3 minutes to suck an appox 15" dia cherry tree stump out of the ground. That stump looked like one of my old wisdom teeth with about 8 roots hanging down from it. Impressive! I'm sure it would've done the job on a much larger tree and if the thumb were available this one probably would've been out in 30 seconds. Anyhow, the tractor and FEL were already on his lot with a few paint chips and a little rust here and there. The dealer says he'll have it all detailed out for delivery when the Woods BH, grappler and other extras arrive at his place.

I know you all want pictures (ME TOO). So will try to get them as soon as I get my finger prints on it.

Thanks.

This is my very first post and I'm not sure of all the ways to use this forum yet beside this chat method.

OBTW, the tractor has calcium filled R4's.

You will find many ways this is helpful. Probably what a lot of us are the very best at is helping spend your money with you.

Seriously, I don't "personally" know any of the members, but feel I owe many of them a beer or two while standing at the fence...:D They've helped me with my questions countless times, and have offered great advice. Additionally, they can show you how they've customized their tractors (Soundguy, for example has step by step remote installation instructions complete w/ pictures). Another great feature is no matter the problem you experience, one of these people have already "blazed the trail" and can help offer solutions. A great place indeed.

Best of luck experiencing the machine and the site.

Yeah you guys have already increased our budget significantly. I added the rear remote, 3rd function kit and grappler, grill guard, and cutting edge based on my lurking. I also switched the Woods 9000 that is on it now with the 90X and hyd thumb. You guys are good!

Buckley, WA SE of Seattle about half way to Mt Ranier. My brother lives west of Portland, so we'll be "sharing" this as the needs arise. Mostly, I'll get to borrow it from him since he's got the trailer.

We looked at the Orange and Green versions too (even the Kioti's), but NH seemed to have everything we wanted plus more. I wish our weather wasn't so nice most of the time, but our ladies whom we must leave the seats down for wouldn't accept our feeble attempts at getting one with a cab. So the canopy was a compromise.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase, MadDogDriver. Just like the tractor, if you hang around here long enough and "kick the tires" in the forums, you'll soon be hooked on TBN. It's more than a website, it's a community...and a darn good one.:)

Jim (& Bob & Mike),

Thanks for the "welcome aboard". I've enjoyed all the threads I've perused. There seems to be a great deal of experience on a huge array of subjects and willingness to share it. The other thing I've noticed is a lack of "my color is better than yours" attitude. Everyone's needs (or wants, in most cases) are different and whatever machine and attachments they've chosen seems to work in their case, and just as importantly, if it doesn't they're not afraid to speak out about it.

We're obviously excited about our anticipated delivery and can't wait to check it out. The "Projects" and other similar subject lines are great as well, since we can live vicariously through our neighbors trials and accomplishments too.

A question about using the threads.....When our discussions in one thread begin to transition to other subjects is it appropriate to shift to a new thread for it or just stay in the immediate thread and let the discussions lead however people want?

Thanks again, David
