Ok I recently bought a taishan 304 from a guy at work. The 3pt is not working at all. He said it was like that when he got it. It has hydraulic steering that works but dosent seem to turn completely to either side.
The 3pt arms are all the way down
The hydro pump is rear mounted over the pto shaft
Here are some questions I have:
What kind of hydro fluid do I need?
Do the 3pt hydraulics and the trans share oil?
Does pto have to be engaged to operate 3pt hydraulics?
This is my first tractor so not really familiar with it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Steering dosent seem to turn all the way to either side and little to no return flow thru the filter. With the top of the 3pt hitch box removed (under the seat) I can see a stream of fluid coming from the right side of the distribution block but hardly any fluid flow thru the filter

You might get more info posting this in the Chinese forum.

I have a TS254 and do not have any experience with a 304.

On my tractor there is a separate engine mounted pump for the power steering. The rear mounted pump only runs the 3 point hitch. There is a round metal tank about the size of a coffee can under the hood that is the reservoir for the steering.

If you see fluid movement out of the distributor block, your rear mounted pump must be working. Not sure what you mean by fluid flow through the filter.

On my tractor the distributor block is mounted in the lift box under the seat. With the engine running, if the lift arms are not being lifted, oil will flow out of a hole in the side of the distributor block. When you move the lever to raise the lift arms the linkage moves a spool in the distributor block sending fluid to the piston attached to the distributor block. When the 3 point arms reach the desired height the linkage returns the spool to the neutral position. This linkage has been known to get out of adjustment and cause problems.

There is also a screw on the outside of the lift box the blocks the flow of oil to the lift cylinder and sends it to an external port. If this was screwed in and the cap is on the port, the lift arms will not move. If this was the problem the oil would be spraying out of the relief valve screwed in to the distributor block, instead of running out he hole in the side of the block.

I had a problem with mine where the lift arms would not go up that was caused by a blown out O-ring in the distributor block. When this was happening oil was continuously running out the hole ib the distributor no matter what position the spool was in.
