Tachometer on a Kubota B7100

Hello

I have a question i hope someone here can answer.
We have a B7100, and we bought that Kubi (thats how we call him) new in 1978.
Its a very fine machine, almost unbreakable.
But we miss a tachometer.
I know it was optional, but how do i mount it ???
I mean not the counterclock itself, but the "feed" for it, the sender for the rpm's.

Can someone tell me more ??

I had a B2200 a few years back and the sender unit was placed around one of the fuel lines. It worked great but I really don't know how the fuel going thru the line triggered the tach.

I bought a new B7100 in 1995 and don't think a tachometer was even an option, but I, too, sometimes wished that it had one.

About that tinytach: i wonder also if it works.

I think that it actually counts the pressure pulses.

The Tiny Tach uses a piezoelectric pickup, same principle as an electronic igniter on a barbecue or lighter. When the pressure pulse hammers in the pipe a electric pulse is created and the electronics count the pulse.

The Snap On MT 257 diesel timing adapter works the same way and allows a normal inductive timing light to be used on diesel engines.

Usually you will need to strip the paint off the injection line wherever the sensor is mounted for good electrical contact.
