T2290KW No Start

Just thought I'd pass this along to other owners with a T2290KW w/Kawasaki engine. I was operating my mower (no cutting) right in the middle of doing yard work and stopped for a couple of minutes and shut the engine off. When I went to restart it, it would not start. It cranked but no start. After checking to see if it was getting gas and all the electrical switches etc. it still wouldn't start. I then unscrewed the fuel solenoid from the fuel bowl at the carburetor, took it and tested it with a 12v car battery. After watching the plunger go in and out several times, I put it back into the fuel bowl and it started. Worked fine after that. Just thought I'd share this frustrating experience.

I have a Generac 10k generator with electric key start. Subaru Robin twin. A few years back it would not start. It does sit for months at a time. I usually run it out of gas when I'm done with it. Every so often put a little fresh gas in it and run it till it shuts off.

It ended up being that little 12v pin solenoid thingy on the side of the carb. It must have gotten some water in it and corrosion stopped it from going in and out. Cleaned it up and made sure it slid in and out freely. All good.

BTW I bought this gen used at auction for $1200 way back in like 2013 or so. It looks to be a 1998 model but the thing looks relatively new. The battery lasted all the way up until last year. That's over 27 years.
