While bushhogging small pine trees on my R&R, I lost a couple of retaining pins holding the shock absorber (name of part??) onto mounts for the HST foot pedals. I didn't have small enough cotter pins on hand at the time so I used 'R' clips and correct sized flat washers to resecure the mounting pins in place. I did ziptie the open end of the 'R' clip shut and also made a tether to the frame with zip ties incase the clips get pulled out again I might not loose them. I came very close to having the shock fall off and being lost. Only thing keeping it attached at the rear was the pin was jamming against the transmission and it couldn't fall out easily. Thinking about manufacturing a skid plate to mount underneath tractor to help protect the undercarriage if I plan to do alot of bushhogging!
