Hello Mr. xxxx. Thank you for contacting Kubota. Kubota has not tested and approved synthetic oils for their products. However, we have many current users who have had no problems with synthetic lubricants. The automotive and truck industries are now moving almost entirely to synthetics. If this is your choice, choose a good manufacturer or
distributor who can make an intelligent recommendation based on the use of your compact diesel engine. Your warranty will not be affected unless damage or failure results directly from the use of the chosen fluid. In these cases, the oil vendor should be held responsible for repair costs,
not Kubota. Choose a vendor who will stand behind their product and there should be no problem. Again, thanks for contacting Kubota.

Comments: Hello,

Questions about engine oil for a new Kubota L3130...

Can a full synthetic oil be safely used ?

After how many hours ?

Same weights as recommended in the owner's manual ?

Thanks,

Dave…

I other words use them at your own risk, and if you have any engine damage Kubota will say it was the oil that caused it and thus your on your own /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I'll stick to the stuff they aprove of so if there is a problem I won't have to worry about that being an issue.

This is their stock reply to everyone that asks the question. I got the same reply and posted it here a few months ago. If Kubota manufactured air compressors, they would tell you that you had to use Kubota air in your tires and if you didn't, you were out of warranty and to make the claim against the other air compressor manufacturer..... !!!!!!!

It is the same thing Kubota and Toyota told me, it is a generic answer that means nothing. If the oil meets their requirements, API and all that, then the warranty would have to be honored unless they had a statement specifically excluding synthetic oil--which they do not. They do not have such a statement becasue there is no reason too. Japanese companies are very conservative and I doubt you will get a blanket statement from them on anything. I tell you what, write them a letter and ask them if you can use Shell Rotella or Chevron Dello. I BET they give you the same answer. They are not going to endorse a brand or type of oil other than Kubota products. I use Mobil 1 in my Kubota and Toyotas and everything else. It meets the requiremnts of light diesel engines regardless of what others say. You use what you want, I think the Rotella synthetic would be good, Mobil Delvac (diesel Mobil 1 synthetic) would be excellent as well. "Oil wars" are always fun. There is nothing magic about "Kubota oil" or Kubota diesel engine oil requirments.
Oh, someone mentioned air compressors, my air compressor recommends specifically--Mobil 1.

Good point! I'm going to get some Kubota air in the tires at the 50 hour service. I'm not taking ANY chances

Don't forget to check the air in the steering wheel. It sometimes gets squeezed out unintentionally when you do something that requires maximum pucker power......
