For tractor transaxle oil, the only synthetic I am away of is Kubota SUDT2 and yes, it makes a world of difference in hydro transmissions and hydraulic shuttle transmissions. I have done posts on it, once after changing my
B7800 trans oil and replacing with Deere Hygard oil. JD oil is the absolute best in my book but it's not synthetic and my
B7800 trans whined more and kicked in slower after the switch. I changed back to SUDT2 Kubota synthetic and all was good again.
For the hydraulic shuttle shift
M6800, I again replaced the original oil with Deere and immediately noticed slower engagement. It baffled me so I switched back to SUDT2 and problem solved. Now, Deere is the best there is, period so it has to be the hydraulic aspect and I think there is a marketing opportunity waiting to happen.
I think Amsoil makes a synthetic as well but because everyone seems to be a dealer, and therefore has a dog in the fight, I view all opinions as suspect and don't listen. Some big major, besides Kubota is going to introduce a synthetic trans oil ASAP, and I believe it will have the same profound impact synthetic engine oil has had. Most everyone, especially in a cooler climate uses that.
