I think its a confusion of terms. You could put 8 blades on the spindle. Thats in its self, doesn't change the tip speed of the blades.

You are correct. Tip speed gives you lift and cut frequency due to RPM. Doubling the blades does the same thing without the RPM. That is all I am saying.

I am not saying that the RPM is increased, but if you think about the tip of the blade passing a stationary point and then count the time till it passes that point again, you are cutting that time in half by doubling the blades. Think about it.

Ummm, you will have twice as many tips go by during 1 revolution. But each tip is going to go by at the exact same speed as before. So the tip speed has not increased. You have twice as much cutting action, but not more tip speed.
