Noticed that they both sell identical implements with agri supply's prices being a lot lower...

Coincidence?

AgriSupply sells many items and they sell the same implements for lower prices than anyone there because they are wholebuyer and retail seller. On the other hand, the firms like Sweet have to pay the profit of FC too and, other firms like CCM have to consider their own dealer profit room and all these result in higher prices than ASC. (CCM and ASC too sell some same implements like hay rake and see ASC's prices better.) Also, ASC sell the goods for low profit. No one can compete against ASC in implement field. I can't say the same about tractor part & accessory field. Ps: wondering if ASC is also selling this aerator now (see attachment)

I don't know about Agri Supply, but I've priced identical (same model & same brand) items from Sweets against my local dealers and typically found at least one of my local dealers is lower than Sweets, or will come down with a little bit of haggling, and they don't charge me to drop the implements off at my house. I'm not saying anything bad about Sweet's, I think I might be lucky to be living in between 6 dealers within 12 miles of where I live (2 JD, 2 Kubota, 1 NH, 1 Massey) so there is already a lot of competition to keep customers happy. I have good relationships with 2 of those dealerships for parts & service.

The common link is BUY Smart/First Choice and Agri-Supply used the same Italian coordinator. So COSMO spreaders are the SAME as First Choice spreaders. Also look to Long MFG to have many of the same products because now John has moved from Buy Smart back to Long MFG. The Long disc mower is the same as the FORT, Morra, Bumble Bee, & First Choice. This some coordinator sells to King Kutter, WAC/IMT, LandPride, Darrell Harp, & so on. If looks the same chances are it is the same. Just as this Industrial (Sicma) 72" finish mower product looks the same are the FC- FM-72 finish mower because it is the same.

Perhaps you should give MR. Sweet a call and talk business directly with him. That would apply to any dealer, I would think. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Dixiedrifter, Welcome to TBN. I noticed you were recently registered on TBN as of 6-17-04 and did not fill out your profile and that is not really that unusual. However, I would welcome a call from you to our business at 270-528-3323 to discuss any questions you may have.
I am very reluctant to respond to you on this forum because I really dont know who you are and what your motives are? I was informed last year that a competitor had 4 TBN user names and was using different servers to manipulate the TBN forum discussion posts(He bragged that he could not get caught by TBN) I am sure your not one of those type guys, and I am not pointing fingers at anyone, however, this post, looks to be designed to stir up trouble and provides no useful insight on products and dealers /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif---At any rate, I hope to hear from you soon /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif--Ken Sweet

I have not bought anything from Sweet but I can tell you Ken has given me advice over the phone without obligation. I'd advise anyone to select a dealer based on what they give you in return for your dollar.

"In the absence of anything else...price matters"

If any of the guys/gals here are in business for themselves you'll realize you pick your battles, give a good product at a fair price and let nickle and dimers nickle and dime someone else.

Well said...... I have said it many times before. I have purchased from both Sweets and CCI and in both instances, they both have been stellar sellers. I would rather pay more for quality and service than pay less for a product without the possibility of service. There is more to a purchase than just the $$$$$ involved. I know that if a problem arose with any product that I purchased from either, that they would work to make sure that it was rectified to my satisfaction. I have no doubts as to that. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
