Changing the hydraulic filter and its super tight stuck. Is there a way to relieve any checked/holding ? pressure on this circuit if there is any? Is there a way to park it without the hydraulic system locking?

Tried a spanner wrench and it stripped the only tooth I could get it onto. Going to try a new spanner and add an end filter filter wrench.

Any suggestions?

Ever have to cut one off? I guess take the mount off put in vice then hack away the can then grind some reliefs into base of filter and chisel off. Any tricks?

can you drill a hole in the side and get a bar (screwdriver pounded in might do) through it to apply leverage?

Some people have had some luck using a utility knife to cut the paint around the base of the filter. I had one once that I actually tore the can off the base trying to remove it.
Ended up walking it off to loosen with a cold chisel on the base plate after destroying the filter.

I've had the same experience with hydraulic filter on a Kubota tractor. Ended up sticking a large screwdriver through it and just about ripped it off. Finally unscrewed, but I don't know why Kubota filters can be that way.

Put at air chisel against the splines for the wrench.

When the spanner stripped the notch I had a cheater on it and helper tapping a screw driver against a notch at same time. I will be getting plenty of torque on the filter it is just that tight. I don't want to damage the filter mount. Maybe an air chisel will vibrate it off but I don't have one. Might look at horrible freight.

No "tractor paint" on the skid steer filter like a stuck window as seen on other internet searches. The filter is white the base is unpainted aluminum.

I meant cold chisel and pry it off after I grind some on the filter.

Have you got room to get in with a cold chisel and walk it off, using the chisel to put a notch in the base and then using your hammer and chisel to forceably rotate the filter.

I’ve found most things on excavators and skid steers to be super tight compared to cars and tractors.

It was just super tight. Not likely going to get this off with an avg or even good oil filter style wrench. We eneded up using an OMT hook spanner with 3ft cheater plus an end cap style filter wrench with a long 1/2 drive ratchet. Had 2 people torque it off.

I had tried this red handle hook spanner and it was ok fit but the OMT adjustable spanner seemed to get a better torque on the filter. The way the red handle hook spanner was it did not seem to wrap around the filter as much.

I would recommend the OMT spanners and not the red handle ones. The end cap filter wrench was OK. I would probably buy a different brand next time. One with a little deeper grippers

You can do this by cycling the controls to release any residual pressure before shutting off the machine. Make sure the machine is on flat ground, and lower the attachments to remove any potential load on the hydraulics.

If it's still stuck, using a better spanner wrench or a strap wrench with better grip might help. If you have to cut it off, carefully cutting the can and using a chisel to remove the base is a last resort, but it can work if you're cautious.

Finally, you can go to the link below to view the features of the Kubota SVL75-2 mini loader.
