I've been shopping around. Between the NH and Kubota. I like the NH 29/33D because it has supersteer. Does Kubota 2910/7800 turn as sharp as NH? If not, then I have to go with NH. They both seem to be good tractors.

My B2910 steers tight enough to tear up the lawn even at low speeds.
Super Steer is supposed to avoid this. Do a search on Super Steer. There have been some comments about using a loader with Super Steer.

New Holland's SuperSteer option works by turning the axle as well as the wheels, there is also a feature that allows the two front wheels to spin at different speeds to prevent the tires from tearing the turf. SuperSteer is an option that is exclusive to their tractors starting with the TC29 and going up to include larger models.

For mowing around trees I love it. The loader work is a bit different but you can get use to it. I have. In fact sometimes it is nice to have for when you want to get close to something, you just turn your wheels and the loader moves right over. But all in all, if you do a lot of mowing it is worth it, if your primary work is loader work then I wouldn't get it.

I have a 33 with SS and love it. I do a lot of loader work and grass cutting. The FEL does manuever a bit differently however, as said in a previous message to me it is an advantage as it will allow you to center yourself on something easier. I think the manuvering issue is a bit over talked about actually it isn't anything different than just learning how to use the equipment. Let me say this with everything else said.... As far as safety goes... If you load your FEL up and drive on a hill side then turn full turn .. the unit can easily become unstable. Turning the axle and wheels all the way would tend to decrease the footing under the unit. Not sure I put that right but it makes sense and you should just be aware of this. I won't say this makes it less likeable just would say this is something you have to know and operate under. It makes sense that you don't do a lot of other things with tractors too. Just can't think of them all.. Ok.. enough of the babble I would buy another if I needed to cut grass and work tight areas.

I have to agree with the others. I have a TC-40D with SuperSteer and I like it, it really does work. I do more mowing than loader work. But I also do a lot of pallet work and it works well for me. I would suggest that anyone who is considering it try it first. It's like a HST compared to a gear drive, naturally it isn't for everyone.

Also consider that Sensitrak is part of the SS package. It puts your tractor in 4WD whenever slip at the wheels is detected. It is instantaneous, automatic, and a seamless application, well worth the extra money IMHO.

If Sensitrak determines that 4WD is not needed then it shifts the tractor back to 2WD and you are not as likely to do damage to turf. Of course you always have the option of placing the tractor in 4WD manually if your testosterone races or you feel the need to override the automatic feature. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was leery about SuperSteer before I got it, and all I can say is that I wouldn't buy another tractor without it now. I was afraid of the added complexity, but it seems to be built just as stout as anything else out there. Also, I was leery of the adverse-yaw characteristics it has on the loader, but that is just something to get used to - and use to your advantage when you become proficient. The SuperSteer option allows me to get into and out of places that would be very difficult with regular steering. It makes my TN feel much smaller than it is.

The only negative that I can think of is this: you probably don't want to loan a SuperSteer equipped tractor to someone who has a lot non-SuperSteer tractor seat-time. I say this because it does make the loader sway to the left when you turn to the right, and vice-versa. If you loan your tractor to a friend, and he is doing loader work close to his house or car, that tractor might just make the kind of impression that you (and he) didn't want...

I have both a Kubota B7800 and a New Holland TC33DA supersteer and I can tell you that supersteer is great for mowing around trees etc. When you are trying to manuever close to objects such as in loader work it does take some getting used to because it tends to move in unexpected ways because we are not used to the axle movement associated with supersteer. I have gotten used to it now and would never be without it. My recommendation would be to get the supersteer and spend time getting used to it. It's worth it for sure.
