Isn't a BX-2200 a Kubota product? Wouldn't this post be better suited to the Kubota Owning/Operating board or the general O/O board rather than here in the John Deere O/O board?

I don't have a BX, but I installed one on my B2150.
I purchased it from my Kubota dealer. The orange Kubota fiberglass canopy was the same price as the chromed-metal treadplate canopy. I suspect that that'll be the same situation with nearly all other tractor models.
The metal canopy is more heavy duty and supposedly reflects the sun better thus making it cooler in the operator seat.
Note that any canopy will have a tendancy to make the tractor more prone to tip-overs since you are adding weight at a significant distance above the center-of-gravity. Since the metal canopy is heavier than the fiberglass one it makes the tip-over situation worse.

I checked on several brands about a year ago. None of them weighed more than 50 lbs or so (supposedly) The glass ones will last a long time if you are a careful single user of the tractor.

I dont have a BX2200. But the Orange Kubota sunshade that I bought for my B-2910 is the same thing that would go on your 2200 and it is not fiberglass,it's a poly type plastic that is very light in weight and very durable...I have hit large tree limbs with mine and it just flexes right back and it has never cracked.

I have a BX2200 and while I don't have a sunshade canopy I do have a Curtis cab. It may cost a bit more but I feel it is very well constructed and a worth while purchase. I have the advantage of the roof for sunshade and I also have the sides and windshield for being out in the rain or snow. The doors, back window, and rear side windows come off for extra ventilation if you want as well. In some areas, a canopy may be just fine but I like the full cab. Just my own opinion.
