Kubota B8200D
I purchased for $4500 a used working Kubota B8200D with BF300 loader today as a project tractor to learn on. Any words of wisdom or technical assistance on what to do to bring it to peak operating would be much appreciated. I have owned and worked on cars and diesel trucks for 40 years but I am very excited to finally have tractor other than my trusty Sears GT. Normally I change all of the fluids in a new purchase but I have no clue what this tractor takes. That would be a good start as my loader operates quite slowly and probably needs a transfusion.

Definitely change all fluids to establish a base line for maintenance. I highly recommend purchasing the WSM (work shop manual) from Messicks or on Ebay. All fluid specs are listed, plus -with your mechanical experience- you will be able to do a lot of PM and repairs on your own. Good luck and enjoy your tractor.

I used to have a B8200HSTD for 12 years. GREAT tractor. Built like a tank, albeit a little underpowered with only 19hp. I know the guy who bought it from me; it is still going string!

Remember those hour meters roll over; it may be more than the 800 shown.

The owners manual is still available, and has all the info you need.

I would change all the fluids and filters, paying attention to clean the strainer in the hydro circuit. I used Delo engine oil, and Kubota UDT or compatible for hydro(you can get filters, oil, and hydro fluid from NAPA etc).

Make sure to grease all the zerks; a few are hard to see on the HST pedal, clutch pedal, and range lever... Every 10 hours....

Hydro change is easy; drain the system, spin on a new filter, and clean the strainer(banjo fitting on right side of tractor, kind of below where the range lever is). Just be prepared to catch 5 gallons of hydro fluid in your oil pan...

I don't know if it is applicable to your model, but if you have mechanical valves, factory recommends that they get adjusted at 800 hours--at least on my Kubotas.

i'd change all fluids and filters at a minimum.

grease all fittings.. check for wear and adamage.. fill tires.. check wear surfaces / items.. etc.

clean up electrical connections including battery and terminals... if serviceable battery.. add distileld water if needed.

change coolant out.. make sure to use a sca/dca coolant if it needs it ( i'd use one anyway even if it said it didn't have to have it )
