I have a 3525 that will run great until the fuel in the tank gets below the pump return line. Then it starts missing and sputtering as it is sucking air. I am going to change the line(DUH) but before I do, I thought I would throw it out there in case some one has seen this before. I do not smell diesel and there are no leaks so I thought it might be something else. I am not sure how the fuel bypass and return to tank from the injector pump works.

Don’t have the same model, but had a similar issue. I had fabric braided fuel line that had cracked/deteriorated but couldn’t visibly see an issue. Replaced the lines and all is good

Do yourself a favor and buy diesel fuel injector hose in bulk. Anything you replace (gas or diesel), use it. Once and done. Also remember not to use too sharp of bends as they will eventually fail or damage the hose from fatigue. Good luck!
