HELP...!!!! Read all posted on sub soilers and tooth bars, etc... Would one of you guys please help me determine what I need for rock removal. If I get a tooth bar it will take up more ground that I want. I also want to use THIS implement for getting under surface roots to get them loose. What is the best implement that you would recommend for performing both of these tasks. Oh, I forgot to mention that it will be attached to my NEW JD2210.....

A sub soiler will NOT pull rocks to the surface, if it hits one it will more than likely push it sideways. A subsoiler only cuts a path a couple inches wide (the blade itself is only about 1" wide on the bottom of a shaft that is about 0.5" wide) so there is really nothing to grab the rock and pull it up to the surface. A sub soiler will cut roots provide you are not trying to cut the root of a large tree.

A box blade with the scarifier teeth down will do a better job of bringing rocks up.

However your concern about the toothbar (I presume on the FEL) tearing up too much ground has me concerned because a box blade will tear up the ground very effectively too.
