STX30 will not stay running

Started for the first time since the fall. Will not stay running unless the choke is fully "on". Fresh fuel, new fuel line between tank and carb, sprayed starting fluid into carb, removed air cleaner, etc. Tapped the carb body w hammer to "unstick" needle/float, etc. Noting helped so far. Going to take carb apart and clean shortly. Any suggestions on what to look for? Thks.

Took the carb apart to clean and the seat to the inlet valve fell onto the grass. Can't find. Rebuild kit on the way.

Found Kohler rebuild kit on Amazon and installed. Running great again.

Do you have grass to cut? Here in MN land, the land of 10,000 frozen lakes, it will be a while before we will be starting our mowers.
