...and I think I posed it once before here, but I'll be senile and do it again anyway. Does anyone know why the TZ and TC models, 35 and above, have the two-pedal hydrostatic controls, but the 21, 24, 29, 30, and 33 have the more irritating treadle-pedal?

The Class II treadle style drivetrain hasn't changed all that much from the 1320/1520/1620 hydrostatic drivetrain they are derived from. Pretty much a carry-over design with pedal placement common between gear and hydro trannies. The Class III frame didn't offer hydrostatic transmission until the TCxxD's were introduced. They also introduced independent PTO in the NH compact line which eliminated the need for a main clutch which in turn freed up space for the two pedal design. TZ's aren't much more than a MC (commercial mower) chassis turned around. MC's and the CM's that preceded them have a two pedal design hydro control. Hope this helps.

Do you know if CNH has plans to convert the Class I and II machines to the dual pedal design? Back in July I was able to check out a DX24 (TC24 twin) real well. It was a very nice machine. I thought the treadle pedal was a bit awkward but I could probably get used to it.

I actually love the treadle pedal. I would hate to use anything else.
