BX 24
Hello all I've had my new-to-me 2005 BX24 since Feb of this year. We recently moved to a different home on 4.2ac ...the reason I bought the BX.

I`m a pretty handy kinda guy and this thing works awesome for my needs around here , it`s more than paid for itself in my opinion.

Now to my question, the hydros on the FEL seem alot weaker lately , and I found one of the fittings was loose and it lost some fluid...not a lot but it looked to be enough to worry about.

Where do you add fluid to the system in this thing? The closest dealer is an hour away and I would rather learn to repair this thing myself , if at all possible.

Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been covered already , but I did a search and found nothing that helped.

I'm not intimate with the BX. but on my B series kubotas there has been a dipstick and / or a filler cap on the rear of the transaxle just behind the seat..... about where the top link for the three point hitch is located. Often, they are yellow in color.

I have a B series also. Can't say for sure on a BX. For info on your BX you might want to ask Messicks. Super people to deal with.Kubota Parts

It's on the rear just as ductape indicated. Make sure you use the correct fluid to top it off, most probably Super UDT.

Based on the question I assume you do not have the owners manual. If not, you need to order one to keep up on the proper maintenance.

Edit - Looks like Fxfymn types faster than I do.

If you haven't found the dipstick/filler port for the HST, it's just as Ductape mentioned on a BX24. It appears that you don't have an owners manual for your tractor. If this is true, I would recommend that you purchase one from the link that whistlepig gave. Messicks also sells a workshop manual for your tractor and it's highly recommended if you are going to be doing your own repairs.

Found it....thanks guys.

I did get an owners man. with it ...but I`ll be darned if I could find it in there:confused2:

Now I`m going to go look again. :D

...and I don`t know if I`ll be doing ALL my own repairs , but I was hoping to be able to do basic maintenance:laughing:

thanks again everyone!

Basic maintenance is not that hard and will save you a lot of money. I did a lot of reading before I started doing my first maintenance. It was time well spent.

The BX is really pretty easy to do maintenance even with just the Owner's Manual. A WSM is handy, but I haven't bought one.

I agree- its not hard to do all maintaince on the BX. You should spend at least an hour the first time finding and greasing all joints first, esp the one for HST pedal thats hidden in floorboard.
