Mahindra 3015
Well, I finally managed to get my Mahindra 3015 stuck. I was cutting a path through the woods with my bushog, and as it started to get a little mushy, I got overconfident in the 4x4 abilities. Eventually it got bogged down up to the axles in some mud that was a lot wetter than it looked originally.

It was so low that the bushog was sitting in the mud too, even with it raised all the way up. After a lot of useless rocking, I had to abandon it for a week and hope for dryer weather. Unfortunately, thats when the heavy rains came, every day last week. By the time I got back to it on Sunday, it had sunk a bit lower into the muck. Thats what the picture shows.

A buddy and me headed out to try to unstick it Sunday, and the first thing we had to do was remove the bushog and drag it away by hand. I cant believe we did it but we did.

Then, using the front end loader and some logs, I was able to push up the front wheels out of the mud enough to shove some 2x10s and logs under the front wheels. After that, I was able to finally back it out and put it on dryer ground. The bushog is still there. Im not going back until im sure i wont get stuck again!

There are a bunch more pictures on my website here: Ferkovich.com stuck tractor pictures

I don't think you were stuck, you just couldn't move.

Whoa, what a bust that is! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Been there and done that though. Last time I went down to my dirt pile and loaded up the FEL with some fill dirt and proceeded to back away, but only got about five feet when the entire front end broke through a thin crust covering a muddy underneath.

I'll have to admit, AG1 tires have allot more 4WD capacity than INDs though.

I'm not very far away from you either, down in Archer! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Byra,

Just think how much fun you might have had if you would not have had the loader to lift the front wheels out of the mucd with! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Glad you got out of the mud without too much pain... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

By the way, ? You're not...

You just need bigger tires on that tractor to get more clearance and you'll be fine. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wow! That's stuck alright!
Thanks for sharing the pics and keeping track of this momentous occassion that I'm sure you'll never let happen again... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I've been stuck, too, but nothing like that. Of course, PA is nothing like FLA. Same situation, too, hoggin'.
I found it helps to have a hand on the 3PT lever when travelling over soft ground in case you need to lift it in a hurry before you start spinning wheels. It seems that the brush hog starts adding drag and you can barely notice it if you're paying attention.

Yea Henro,

Without the loader I would have had to get pulled out, no doubt about it. Fortunately my neighbor has a couple of big ag tractors, so that was an available option. However, Im glad we were able to get it out without resorting to that.

No, Im not polecat's brother....I do get some funny looks with that hat on though. Especially at starbucks when Im muddy and wearing my overalls. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

By the way, that mess of a tent is what happened to my tractor garage in some really high winds a few nights ago. Its one of those 10x20 portable garages that use hollow aluminum tubes for framing. Several broke in half and several are just bent in half. The tractor was still stuck in the mud when that storm blew through, so it wasnt in the garage when it went down.

For $99, I can buy another one, which is probably the cheapest way of fixing it.

Try the ones from Costco. 2" powder-coated steel tubes. Full coverage including sides and ends. About $180. Buy trailer anchors at Lowes and bury one at each corner.

Wow. That's some muck. When you get stuck you do it right, though I like deerlope's point about ( I don't think you were stuck, you just couldn't move. ). If you remember that, I'm sure you won't feel so bad next time.

If you never get stuck, you're not trying hard enough.
