So it all started with small hydraulic leak on my Terramite... on one of the hoses to the swing cylinder on the backhoe. It was just starting to get bad enough to leave a puddle, so looked over the machine and ordered about 5 hoses that were looking kind of rough.
When the hoses came in, I realized that there was no way to get to the hose fitting on the swing cylinders with out sliding them about 6 inches toward the rear of the machine where there was an access hole in the floor. Simple... knock out 4 pins and slide the cylinders out the back of the machine and replace the hoses. As always the first 3 pins come out with no issue.
Then we get to number 4. The frame end of the swing cylinder under the floor, against the hydraulic tank, between the seat and the rear axel. It would not budge
I Tried PB plaster, Free-All, I tried the gas wrench ( acetylene torch) and all I could get it to do was spin about 10 degrees back and forth with a big hammer. I finally broke out the porto-power, but all that did was bend the retainer strap. This pin was not moving. The problem was: the pin had to come out the top, and although I could see the bottom of the pin it was directly on top of the rear axel tube, with only about an inch or inch and half of clearance. No room to swing a hammer or get anything in there to push. Either get it out from the top or take the whole rear drive train out for access to the bottom.
