So I am trying to get a Farm King y750r finishing mower working again. My current problem is that the PTO shaft is kinda stuck. The release on either end seems to be stuck and the two halves of the PTO shaft are stuck together.

Does anyone have any advice on freeing everything up and what I should check after getting it apart/greased up again?

Thanks

Penetrating oil, a big hammer, a block of wood and time. Hose it down and start carefully hitting it to get it to move. Wood goes between the hammer and what your hitting.

If lucky, sometimes light tapping sets up a vibration that breaks the rust bonding.
You'd try that B4 using penetrating oils.

We once did that tying one end to a tree and pulling while tapping and it worked.

Then comes cleaning the shafts! Male shaft is easy, but the female? good luck! (and patience)
