Probably not an attachment.

Looks like a very short stroke, but very powerful. Maybe it cuts the log crossways? I wonder about the design reasons.

Looking at it closer, it looks the cylinders are trunnion mount, but dismounted for shipping. If the trunion mounts to the top frame, the stroke would be much longer than I first thought.

its a guillotine chopper and very common in Asia. Used to feed in brush and branches and small trunks and roots, etc... to chop them into more usable sizes to burn in stoves for cooking and heat.
