I drained all the transmission oil which is also the hydraulic oil for the 3 point mechanism and a Woods loader fitted in the past.
Then preceded to remove the oil filter suction pipe strainer.
But there was not one. The book for the tractor ( B6100) shows one. Please see pic from manual and pics of the suction pipe and the 'strainer ' I have.

Anyone know why mine is different. Maybe its the year 1995?
The book also shows 'O' rings. My does not they are hard copper/brass washers either side of the tube connector just as the 'O' rings would be placed. P1010868.jpgP1010869.jpgP1010870.jpg

I would want one if possible, grab a torch and look up the guts and see if it's still in there. The service manual and parts manual show it.

That looks to be high on the trans to be a suction screen. The hydrostatic trans shows it at the bottom of it on the left side.

Did that but did not see one.
Looking like I am looking on the wrong end of that pipe!

Thanks for your reply

Leejohn= looks like you will be spot on.

I am thinking its at the other end of that pipe!
Silly me- will go down and take a look.
If so will I need to empty the system again or is there a way around it?

Do you know what Leejohn, this silly so and so has got the wrong pipe now it seems.
There is a larger diameter pipe lower down as you suggested.
I bet that is the one I need look for the strainer.
Oh well I have an excuse- a senior moment.

Guess I'll need empty the system and re-do.

The lowest fitting is the suction line, comes off the lowest point. Return well the high line.

I've never seen standard (rubber) "O-Rings" used on banjo fittings unless they are machined for it. They'll squeeze out otherwise. If the contact points are flat, they'll use a copper washer

Stick a shop vac hose into the fill port (on top of the transmission, above the level of the fluid) and turn it on before removing the line. That will keep most (99%?) of the fluid in the transmission.

Yes right. That was a clue I got the wrong pipe- the washers are copper. I just looked at the shape of the pipe- it fitted the manual picture well. And looking under the transmission there was nothing underneath but there WAS a pipe lower and bigger than the one I picked.
