I got a 7 1/2 foot plow last fall and mounted it on the M5640 tractor. It worked out well. So this summer it gets a new cutting edge and a paint job. The trip/cutting edge and mold board were bent pretty good so that it would bind when the edge tripped but still worked somehow. I decided to try to make it straighter before adding the new cutting edge. I used a torch, clamps, and a 3 llb hammer on the mold board and a 20 ton jack and 14,500 lb dozer on the trip edge. It took some experimenting but it came out better than I thought it would with my crude backyard methods and tools.

Can I bring over my "FREE" Bent Plow too?

I have a acetylene tank just like yours. Only time I have seen another like it. Man, I wish I could get it refilled though!

I don't get it refilled. I bring it into AirGas and swap it out for a full one for the price of the gas. It is the biggest non-rental acetylene tank they (AirGas) allow at 75 CuFt.

Mine lasted for MANY years. Now I have such a little customer owned tank that I am embarrassed! So many things seem to get smaller with age!

I finished working on the trip edge today. After I got the back bone straight the actual cutting edge was still quite scalloped, cupped, and worn short. It looked like the previous owner had used the plow to bull doze and back drag road base ???? I cut off the bad edge, fit in a new piece, welded the back first while clamped to a new bolt-on cutting edge, then welded the front and grounded it off smooth so the new edge fit like it should.

VERY nice job. Only difference between that unit and brand new - a paint job.

Looks good. One thing about working on a snow plow is you don't have to be gentle...

I like the sawhorses too, looks as though they are getting a little charred...

Here is my plow, it's a 10 foot recycled county plow. It's straight and I'm glad of that.
