Missed us so far but Western NY state(Buffalo area) is getting pounded.....6ft.or more.Just south of us in St.Lawrence Co.has two-three ft. so far and it's still coming down. Hope every-one was ready for this early storm.

They just said Lancaster, New York has "60" on the ground on the weather channel, Wow! Can't imagine moving that much at one time.

My nephew measured 63" at 4pm at his home in Alden, NY. Wish I still lived there!

Is the cause the combination of still fairly warm lake water and colder than normal Arctic air (for the season)?

I hope it settles down since I plan to drive the Thruway early next week.

The local weather station in Maine stated the snow squalls were are getting here are originating from the Lake Ontario "lake effect. They sure are getting pounded with deep snow out there!

I really think the western NY area is getting too much of a good thing...4 deaths (one car accident, three heart attacks) related to this snow event....so far.

I drove home from Leroy in Genesee County Monday night, and it was often a total white-out worse than I have seen in at least a decade, but luckily, I was off today and able to get the snow tires on my other car, but here we are just a little north of the current lake snow bands, and I for one am very glad of it.

We got blistered all day in my part of Jefferson County. And the wind howled the whole time along with it. From 3 or 4 AM Tuesday until around 2 or 3 AM Wednesday. Not really liking to put the Bobcat into snow removal mode this early, but what are ya gonna do? :confused2:
And the new part time job I just landed has a run that runs through the snow belt in Adams to Mannsville, NY area.
