Stop Timer location on a 2000 BX2200

I have a 2000 BX2200 that is giving me troubles. When I turn the key to the start position the engine turns over and sounds like its running if I keep the key held in the start position. when I release the key, the engine dies. I am trying to find the stop timer, but when I look where its suppose to be on the firewall, its not there, just a stud. I also see the 4 pin connector that should be going to the relay just laying along side of the harness. I have tried just about everything in the WSM shop manual

its probably a broken or disconnected wire in the run circuit between the key in "run" and the fuel solenoid. it works in "start", but not in run

I would put a meter on the fuel solenoid and see if it has power in the run position.

My BX tractor behaved that way and it was a bad fuel solenoid.
