I saw this and had to take a picture. Had to try out the new digital camera and thought you'd all like to see it.

Anyone ever seen or used one? How does it work?

diskdoc:

not sure how that one works, almost lookslike a golfball picker. which traps a golf ball between 2 plastic disks and rolls the ball over the top and then pops the ball out into a basket using some steel Fingers which set between the disks, they have like 20~30 disks bolted together in a row wihch has the removeable baskets behind disks pick up anbd pushed by a drive machine of some type, tractor mower golf cart ect.

It looks quite old from the all steel wheels. Where did you see it? If it works, I could sure use that this week. I have York raked my field for over 10 hours and I think that the rocks are growing overnight. I am at the point that I am giving up and am just going to plant grass over them. When the grass starts to grow and the field is wet, I will just roll the entire field and push the rocks back down into the ground. When G-d make rocks, I believe that he gave CT a disproportionate share than any other part of the country.

That's what I immediately thought of when I saw the picture.
The local driving range has one mounted on the front of their tractor. I've never seen it in action, but I see it sitting along the road when I drive by.

Junkman,

I saw this at a local amusement park, Idlewild Park, in Ligonier, PA.

Took the kids there on Friday and saw this at "Hootin' Holler", an old West style amusement area. The rock picker is decorative.

And don't fret about all the rocks in CT, the Man upstairs blessed us in PA, too! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We got rocks up here in Nova Scotia too!

It's been said if we picked them all we'd be working underwater.
