Hello everyone,
I will like to know if anyone can help me to decide what attachment will do a better job for the $$

I'm starting to prepare my yard for seeding. It is a new construction so the yard is not very level, have some small rocks and clumps of hard clay.

I was looking at this stone burier

Brand New Tractor Stone Burier – CAEL

Does anyone use one before ? For what I read online this attachment is like a mix with a rototiller and a powered rake. I will appreciate any thoughts about this.

There are at least two threads (below) in the "Similar Threads" box.

It looks like one of those implements that you'd use a few times to get the job done and then it'll 'sit there' for years. Maybe look to rent one, if you can.

Personally, I'd invest in a tiller and a separate landscape rake. You'd get more use out of them.

A rototiller works great in the garden but will be jumping out of the ground every time you hit a good sized rock or root or if the ground is too hard. I wouldnt recommend it for landscape grass seeding.

Landscape rakes work great for levelling but if this is a one time job it will be an expensive lawn ornament. Cheaper to rent or hire.

I have only seen the rock crushers in use on large tracked skidsteers. It will definitely abuse your tractor and I would only consider renting a complete machine or hiring a contractor to do the job. I would not put one on my tractor.

Stone burrier's require a heavy 2 wheel tractor or heavy 4 wheel or tracked power unit. All they do essentially is smash the rock and push it down. you still have rock that will be pushed to the surface if you have a 4 season environment. if you can hire someone with a PTO driven rock picker all the better or a rock picking bucket on a skid steer or tractor or a towed rock picker used on a quad bike/four wheeler

You need to spread gypsum and lime before you wander down the path any further to a new lawn as you need to bring up the PH with either hydrated lime or pelleted lawn lime and dissolve the clay with gypsum-preferably deep mine dgypsum rather than chemically rendered gypsum that will cost less per bag.

Box blade with rippers to pull up the rocks. Then pick them or use a rake.
