Stockpile snow with a tractor

This is one way to pile alot of snow in a confined area. Not a new idea, this is done the same way as a rock stock pile. This pile can hold alot more snow, but this year is a light one so far. The tractor is a L4610 with a 7 foot curtis plow on the front and a 7 foot back blade. The cutting edge of the front blade is 9 feet above the ground. By building these stockpiles in strategic places, I never get "bermed in"

How time do you think your saving between the plow and the fel for snow removeal.

I think the blade or the bucket push snow nicely, but the front blade allows you to windrow the snow to either side if you want. It is a real pleasure not working in reverse. If I could only have a front blade OR a bucket, I'd choose the bucket. The rear blade does a fine job of side casting snow, but since I've had the Curtis on the front, I find the rear blade doesn't get used alot. Of course, come spring, the Curtis will sit idle until next winter, while the rear blade and front bucket will be working.

Ahhh... to get you through the summer months? Whoa! I know some people like snow and winter, but stockpiling the stuff.... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
