How much is the 6 pak?

I dont use their oil but I am getting ready to get some stihl stuff pretty soon. 200T, mini tiller and backpack blower maybe.

Please don't say you bought a 290 farm boss. All these chainsaw experts will let you know what a piece of sh*t it is. It's too heavy, its not powerful enough, it's not a professional saw, on and on......

The MS-290 Farm Boss is OK for a homeowner saw, and it's Stihl's most popular model. But there are better choices in Stihl's lineup for pro use -- for example, you can get the same power, better construction, lighter weight, lower fuel use, and better emissions in the MS-261. But it's also another $200!

I bought a Stihl weed eater last year and the dealer extended the warranty by doubling it also when I bought their oil.

You really cannot go by "what experts say" because everyone comes from a different set of use criteria. The 290 can be a dandy saw for a home owner especially at its price point. Does Stihl make a better saw? sure they do. Will this saw more than suffice for the average guy? of course it will. Because of its use point, it does not make this saw a pos in any sense of the word.

I have noticed, however, that the modern Stihl products do not have the longevity of the old Stihls (in the smaller sized models). I've switched to Echo for small sized chainsaws.

My 026 runs and runs. Never a problem. I had a Stihl 180 for light work. It always had a flooding problem and then one summer, it wouldn't start. Took it in, and they informed me the cylinder was bad. It was a 3 year old chainsaw with only a half dozen or so tanksful of fuel through it. I went back to my old (as in 12 year old) Echo CS3000 and tuned it up. Same thing happened with a Stihl weed trimmer.

I run the same mix in all my 2 strokes (all within the manual specs) and have to think that the smaller Stihls don't have the engineering and manufacturing that the older models (and likely the larger models still have).
