Last weekend I got my saw stuck in a log I was cutting for firewood.
I only tried to get it cutting again momentarily, but apparently that was enough to burn up the clutch; as I shut it down to remove it with force, I saw smoke coming out from the sprocket cover. Then when I got it unstuck and restarted it, the chain would not move and the engine would not rev up. So I shut it down, removed the cover and sure enough the sprocket would not move at all. I assume I burnt up the clutch.
So today I removed the clip and the sprocket and tried to remove the clutch drum.
I can't get it off.
I know I need to use a piston stop to remove the clutch itself (I think), but the outer drum cover should come off with a little persuasion right? Once the sprocket is off?
