Stihl Advance Blue tooth chainsaw helmet

One of the reasons for the helmet was the ability to take phone calls in case my wife who is handicapped is having an emergency. The noise cancelling technology works really well and allows for different levels of noise reduction including turning it off to allow for normal conversations

Nice helmet, congrats.
Anything that stops stuff from smacking you in the face or bouncing off your skull is good in my books.

So I have been using the helmet, primarily for weed wacking a couple ponds I do in October and some small tree jobs I have done.
Really like it. Just a a minor complaint, but its probably for my own good.
Stihl keeps the volume of the sound pretty low. You can hear it good enough and they blend it just right so you can hear your saws or weed wacker’s engine, blade very well.
Comfort is very good and it’s surprisingly light.

So far, I’d give it a 9 out of 10, but I’ve only got maybe 20 hours of use.

I’ll be reporting back once I start getting into more sawing & logs soon.

Update:
I did a 1,000’ long x 30’ wide clearing job-mostly stickers, vines and small scrub trees like Russian Olive in late November.
The helmet was fantastic. It doesn’t cut off all sounds. You can hear the weed wackers/ chain saws running just fine. The blue tooth headphones make the day go by real nice listening to talk radio or music. The face shield is a fine mesh- easy to see through, no fog like on a plastic face shield. Shield saved me dozens of times not only from flying chunks of wood, but simply being poked or whipped in the face by branches or stickers. The helmet is comfortable and light. I could wear if for 3-4 hours before I wanted a short break.
Only complaint is the headphones could be a little louder, but I believe they want to limit the amount of sound from the speakers for safety.

Great to hear you are using them AND enjoying it!!

I have the 3M Worktunes and I have the same complaint. Could be a little louder, especially when running a machine. But I think you are right. it is a safety issue. I worked with a buddy of mine this summer framing my addition. He used those little ear bud hearing protectors and you would have to SCREAM at him to get his attention, not very safe and really annoying.
